Brussels Cycling Classic 2023: Who Will Succeed Arnaud Démare?

Sunday, June 2nd, Will See a New Champion Crowned

After the excitement of the Giro d'Italia, the cycling world turns its attention to the Brussels Cycling Classic on Sunday, June 2nd. With many riders and teams now free from the constraints of the Grand Tour, we can expect an exciting race filled with attacking and high-quality racing.

The Course

The Brussels Cycling Classic is a one-day race covering a distance of 207.1km. The route is relatively flat, with only a few short climbs, but the cobbled sections and narrow roads will make for a demanding and technical race. The finish is located in the heart of Brussels, on the iconic Avenue Louise.

The Contenders

Arnaud Démare has won the Brussels Cycling Classic twice in the past three years, but he will not be defending his title this year. In his absence, several riders will be vying for victory. Among the favorites are Tim Merlier (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Dylan Groenewegen (Team BikeExchange-Jayco), and Pascal Ackermann (UAE Team Emirates). Other riders to watch include Alexander Kristoff (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty), Elia Viviani (Cofidis), and Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Dstny).

The Brussels Cycling Classic is always an exciting race, and this year's edition promises to be no different. With a strong field of riders and a challenging course, we can expect a thrilling day of racing.
