Felix Gall Wins Queen Stage From Late Breakaway

Felix Gall of the AG2R Citroën Team has won stage 17 of the 2023 Tour de France, a 165.7km run from Saint-Gervais-les-Bains to Saint-Gervais-les-Bains. The Austrian rider attacked from a late breakaway and soloed to victory, holding off the chasing peloton to take his first Tour de France stage win.

Vingegaard Extends GC Lead

Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) finished safely in the peloton to extend his overall lead to 3:26 over Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates). Pogačar attacked on the final climb, but Vingegaard was able to match his acceleration and maintain his advantage.

Route Favourites and Predictions

Stage 17 is the final day in the Alps and features over 5,000m of climbing. The route includes four categorised climbs, including the Col du Galibier, the Col du Télégraphe, and the Col du Granon. The stage is expected to be decisive in the battle for the general classification, with Pogačar likely to attack Vingegaard on the final climbs.
